MAE-VA REMERCIER ET EN ANGLAIS SVP

“With the season’s hope and some mistletoe, if we’re arm in arm then the world will know, I love Christmas and I love you.”

It has been two years…

Two years already,

Two years which passed by so quickly in a sense (it is always easier to say it once you have actually reached the deadline).

Two years ago we were freezing and St Cloud was covered in a white blanket of snow. This year was not a snowy Christmas day even though it was still really cold!

Two years since I was getting to meet them all. This year I could spend some quality time with all of my in-law’s cousins; and soon we will be reunited again for an amazing destination wedding in Mexico.

Two years ago I had the honor to meet the bravest of the family who went to Iraq -the one who sent us a video, in French, on our wedding day- and his lovely family and I get to see the smart little one of the family (who was only 2 last time). This year we decorated homemade cookies; ate pizza all together and spent some great quality time with them. Cherry on the cake: I received their homemade jewelery for Christmas!

Two years ago, more than 20 people were gathered around a big feast, prepared with love and patience by two amazing women: the mother and her daughter. This year, only the food was different; the rest was identical: amazing feast, love and patience prepared by the same caring people.

Two years ago I was eating too much of those homemade and amazing cookies; and once again this year I could not resist….

Two years ago Grand Ma gave me this “cuddle” that only she knows how to and which tells you a lot about her love and I must admit I just love it when she does it! This year I received a ton of them and I could never get tired of them. Should I add the fact that I also loved the moments she told me my husband was such a lucky guy? (indeed :-)).

Two years ago we were watching “home alone” and were listening to some christmas songs in a continuous loop. This year, my great sister in law (luckily?!) decided to switched to an even better movie ;-) and the songs were still being played in a continuous loop.

Two years ago she was already on my side making sure I was ok with everyone and she was already there to support me and make sure I was not left alone. This year my adorable sister in law was still on my side and as supportive as usual, and in case she drives me around, she always thinks about turning the heat on my car seat :-).

Two years ago my thoughtful and great father in law made my mother in law cry by offering her a beautiful necklace, this year, we made her cry by offering her a wedding picture frame; she is just a sweetheart!

Two years ago my hubby was already the best of the bestest. This year, the love of my heart was with me and I could just see it in his eyes: he had a great time and he just loved to be surrounded by his family; even though I was not surrounded by mine this year, this makes me really happy because I simply love him and I want him to be happy. Additionally, I have learned over the years that love is not only about us it is also them; our families and friends, our loved ones; it is all about sharing quality time with them.

I have learned over the years that love is not only about us it is also them; our families and friends, our loved ones; it is all about sharing quality time with them. And even though it happens only once every two years for each family; i suppose it is better than nothing and we always cherish this precious family time. Again this year we had a blast and I am lucky to be part of this lovely family who welcomed me as one of theirs which means a lot to me.

With love,
