MAE-VA VOUS PARLER D’UNE INSTITUTION

“Si vous recherchez de l’attention de la part d’un homme, ne sortez pas avec lui un soir où il y a un match de foot à la télé”. Rita Rudner

MONDAY is the day you’ve been waiting for. It is the pièce de résitance, the coup de grâce and other dramatic French expressions. If God rested on the seventh day, he more than made up for it today. 36 weeks a year Monday stinks, but for these precious 16 – it’s the biggest day of the week. It’s BO’s run, it’s the Dolphins (Miami) beating the unbeatable Bears (Chicago), it’s Theismann’s tibia and fibula. It’s the next unforgettable moment. It’s the Monday night football of football. Sure, Sunday was nice. No question. Game after glorious game. But you’re incomplete. Unfinished. Unsatisfied. Because that little voice inside your head is saying: “one more”. and it’s not a creepy voice. It sounds kind of like you. Except cooler. That’s right, Monday’s no longer five or six days wayay like it was five or six days ago because it’s today. So read about the match-up, camp out at the water cooler, maybe do a little work, then get home as soon as you can and let the spectacle wash over you like a warm bath. And savor the taste on your tongue as though it were the last chicken wing you’ll ever eat, because once it’s over…you have another six whole days to get through. Is it Monday yet?

I saw this ad for the first time, back in 2006; it was so well written and SOOOO damn true (and still is unfortunately)!

Comment dit-on déjà?! Welcome to my life :-)
